Building a resort on Tioman Island presented a dual challenge. First, the geotechnical conditions (sandy, coastal soil) required a specialized elevated footing design to ensure stability against tides and erosion. Second, the logistical nightmare of transporting materials to a remote island meant that any “over-design” or material wastage would cause critical delays and budget overruns.
